This is what I ate in New Zealand

you know what? I realized I have a lot of picture to show you.. so I will add and show you one at the time when I add cooking blog. I will have little space, and tell you about the wonderful dish I had in NZ. ^^

And I will also add people I met in NZ to my other blog. Don't miss it!

Dukkah

Dukkah is an Egyptian spice blend and is just wonderful. The more you eat it the more addictive it becomes. Serve with toasted crusty bread (Turkish bread is great for this), and olive oil(good good oil, any good oil go with dukkah. I recomend to used avocado oil, extra vergin oil. Have to be good one.) Dip bread into olive oil, then into the Dukkah and enjoy this unique and addictive mix.

I met this Dukkah when I was visiting New Zealand. I found mixed spices, and my hostmother show me how to enjoy this. It is really good with your favorate alchole drinks. I am addicted to this recently, and I already eaten all the mixed dukkah from NZ, so I need to make some. I found some recipe, so.. I will try to make it someday. Maybe you can find some import spice store. Egyptian spice! Really good. I enjoy this with my lemon flavored cocktail( I love lemon, lime, orange flavored drinks). I use avocado oil for my Dukkah.

*Recipe**
Selected headnotes: Egyptian street vendors sell small paper cones with the unique dukkah blend, along with strips of pita bread. Customers then dip the bread into the vendor's bowl of olive oil and then their dukkah.

1/2 cup hazelnuts
1/4 cup coriander seeds
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons cumin seeds
1 tablespoon black peppercorns
1 teaspoon fennel seeds1 teaspoon dried mint leaves
1 teaspoon salt

Heat a heavy skillet over high heat, add the hazelnuts, and dry-toast until slightly browned and fragrant, being careful that they don't burn. Remove from the heat and cool completely. Repeat the procedure with each of the seeds and the peppercorns. Allow each of them to cool completely.
Place the nuts and seeds, along with the mint and salt, into a mortar and pound until the mixture is crushed. Or pulse in a food processor to a coarse consistency; do not allow the mixture to become a paste.

Store in an airtight container in a cool place for up to 1 month

Jamie Oliver

Recently, he became one of my favorate cooking teacher. I really enjoying his cooking TV show. Its all in English, and the way of his cooking is just really fun to watch. I thought he is Australian, but he happen to be British. ^^
I think I will go to book shop to see if they have some his ccook book. He is really fun. He cooks really fast, and high pitched, and talk really fast. But his dish turn out really nice and homy. I also love his kitchen too. In Japan, his chooking show starts around 8pm to 9pm. I go home around 8:30, and I just go up to my TV and turn on! Enjoy his talk and his cooking untill 9pm.. then, my turn to cook. Its really tiring to cook after hard work.. especially coming home around 9 is .... bad. I missed his show tonight. I came home around 9:30. I had meeting... humm..
anyway, if you have chance to see his show, please! Its fun!

German doria: Orie style

I have no idea why this dish called 'German'... Maybe its because of the sausage. One of my yummy dish ^^. You make chiken rice (That's we called it this kind of rice) It's a tried rice with chiken and ketchup. Really popular kids' dish ^^. Then, you make wite sauce. Cover chiken rice with white sauce, and put sausage, broccoli and cheese. (as much as you like!) I recommend to use white cheese.. humm.. like cheese that you use to make pizza. ^^

Then put it into the oven for about 15 minutes until cheese and sausage get bit crispy. easy! I had this with vegitable soupe and green salad with sesami dressing.

Easy cooking

Pork fritter and steamed pink salmon with vegetables. And one of my favorite rice dish; green pea rice.

All these dishes are so easy to make.
Season pork with soy sauce and sake beforehand. Then dip into deep fry batter and fry them about 5 to 7 minutes. That's all. ^^

Steamed pink salmon with vegetables is soooo easy. This is rapid-fire food. You season salmon with salt and pepper beforehand. You cut the vegetables. Any kinds of vegetables go with this dish. You can put onion, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.... you can put anything you can find in your refrigerator. Slice a little thicker when you slice the vegetables. For my way, I lay sliced onions at the bottom of pan. Then, put salmons on top of the onions, then other vegetables on top of the salmon. Then you put about 20~30g of butter, and cook on the stove for about 10~15 minutes. ^^

For the rice. you cook rice as you usually do. Just put green pea after you wash the rice. Easy right?? If you cook all together, you can cook all this with in 40 minutes. ^^
